Saturation Point

We’re coming to the end of our 2 week visit with our chums, Mel & Jase, and another chum, Mark (pictured above helping Tony prepare for a trip to the dump) arrived for a couple of nights so we’ve been having a great time catching up, doing a little work interspersed with lots of breaks for refreshments/aperitifs and the like and this morning the general consensus is that we may have reached saturation point and it may be almost impossible to physically digest any more bread, wine, cheese or foie gras.
So here we are on Thursday morning using the last of our raspberries of the season to start the day with a smoothie in the hopes that this will return us to good health (I have a feeling it’s going to take a little more than a smoothie but it’s a start!).

The boys cleared some more of the courtyard yesterday (before and after pics above) - we had some old rabbit hutches along with an outhouse that needed breaking down and clearing which they took care of and in the process found 2 bodies of dead snakes (pictured below) - interestingly it seems as though 1 of them may have died whilst in the process of eating a lizard - a vivid picture of biting off more than you can chew! :)

To combat our recent overindulgence, Mel and I have been going for some good sized walks and we've discovered an abundance of wonderful plum trees in the area.   As a result, we've made it a point to always walk with a "scrumping bag" just to pick up any fruit that seems abandoned - and so it was a surprise to discover in the clearing of some more of our land yesterday that we do in fact have a couple of plum trees ourselves (photo of plums on our trees below).

Tony and I will be very sad to say goodbye to Mark tomorrow and Mel & Jase on Saturday but look forward to removing the bread, cheese & foie gras (we'll keep the wine!) from our diet in an attempt at a cleanse before our next guests arrive in 10 days time!
